Bizweni Bus Project Almost Completed

The Project:

To raise funds to replace “worn out” Daisy

with a reliable 22 seater Mercedes bus to

transport the children. The project was

launched by Anders and Nina Pettersson

from Sweden, regular visitors to the Bizweni

Centre. Nina is a Paediatric specialist

who gives valuable training to the staff.

Having assessed the situation the Pettersson’s

pledged R 100.000 towards the cost

of a new bus (R 500.000. Kronor 400.000).

The Bizweni Principal Vicky Hinrichsen approached

the Rotary Club of Helderberg to

oversee and monitor the project locally. We

agreed to ‘join in’ and our Rotary club has

deposited R 50.000 into a designated bank

account opened for this project. All donations

and expenditures will be recorded,

and all donors will receive a receipt, plus a

detailed statement on completion.

Those who cannot attend the “Handover”

ceremony, will also receive details of the

event.

By the middle of February enough funds had been donated by 

friends of Anders and Nina Pettersson and Swedish Rotary

Club to order the bus. It will now be delivered in March. The official handover

will be in June 2013
